Lake Frederick is a popular destinantion in Virginia. The winding lakeside offers a vast network of hiking trails with beautiful views of the tall timbers and wetlands. Lakeside gazebos make great picnic spots overlooking the lake.

Lake Fredrick and the surrounding towns offer many activities that can be enjoyed at the local parks, museums and wineries. There are six public golf courses within minutes of the community. The nation’s capital Washington DC is only an hour and a half away by car.

Shenandoah residents have to meet certain age requirements which means your neighbors will be similar in age and likes which makes it easy to make new friends. One household member must be 55 or older. No one under 45 is allowed to live there permanently.
